Our services

What is a helicopter charter service?

A helicopter charter service gives you a whole helicopter and crew for your own journey, at the time you choose, from and to the places you choose. You are not sharing a cabin or a timetable. Charter-A Helicopter is the helicopter charter service of Charter-A Ltd, which has arranged private flights across the UK and Europe since 2011. We arrange the flight and an approved air operator certificate (AOC) holder flies it. Learn more on our about us page.

Business travel

Business is the largest use of helicopters in the UK, because the aircraft turns a long road day into a short working one. Business helicopter charter covers meetings, board days and project teams. Same-day business trips covers there-and-back days and several sites in one day. Birmingham to London, for example, typically takes about 40 to 50 minutes by helicopter and around 2 hours 25 by road.

Airport and jet connections

If you are catching a flight, a helicopter between your meeting and the departure gate can be the difference between making it and missing it. Airport transfers by helicopter explains how connections work at UK airports. For the jet itself, see charter-private-jet.com, and for the car at either end, exec-chauffeur.com.

Shooting and secure transport

Two specialist services have their own pages. Shooting by helicopter is for getting a party, with guns lawfully carried, to an estate on shoot day. Secure helicopter transport is written for personal security officers who move the people they look after and need point-to-point flights planned around their own procedures.

Client entertainment and events

Taking clients to a restaurant, a country-house hotel or a major event is a business decision as much as a social one. See client entertainment by helicopter and the full corporate days out hub for racing, football, golf, polo and motorsport.

London and Paris

Flights from the London Heliport at Battersea are run by Battersea Helicopter. We arrange flights into and out of London from other cities on our London helicopter transfers page, and cross-Channel flights on helicopter charter to Paris. For London Heliport questions go to Battersea Helicopter.

How every service works

The process is the same whichever service you need. You tell us the journey, we come back with the aircraft, the real flying time and the total price, and on the day you arrive 10 minutes before departure. Weights matter, luggage should be in soft bags, and landing at private sites is subject to landing permission and site suitability. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing. For how prices are built and what to expect, see the helicopter hire price guides, then use the contact page to ask for your own quote.

Choosing an aircraft

The AW139 carries up to 8 passengers, the H145 D3 up to 8, the Agusta 109 Grand up to 6 and the AS355 Twin Squirrel up to 5. Every aircraft we arrange is twin-engine, which suits flights over water and into central London. Compare them on the helicopter fleet page, or read how to choose a helicopter for your trip.
