Can a helicopter land at Wimbledon?
No helicopter can land at the All England Club, so helicopter charter to Wimbledon is always a two-stage plan: a flight to central London, then a car. The club sits in a residential part of south-west London, and the approach is controlled by the airspace rules for the capital. What we offer is a clean first stage, from wherever your guests start, to London Heliport at Battersea, followed by a chauffeur-driven car for the last few miles.
Charter-A Helicopter is the helicopter charter service of Charter-A Ltd, which has arranged private flights across the UK and Europe since 2011. Battersea is the only licensed heliport in central London, on the Thames at Battersea, with a lounge, customs by arrangement and permitted hours from 07:00 to 23:00. Core hours are 07:30 to 19:30 on weekdays and 08:00 to 18:00 at weekends. For the central London side, see Battersea Helicopter and our own Battersea page.

Helicopter figures are typical block times: distance at 135 knots plus 8 minutes, shown as a range. Road figures are free-flowing road times, a floor that real journeys rarely beat. Distances are in a straight line. Figures from our UK route data, checked 29 Sep 2026.
Who flies to Wimbledon
The typical group is a company hosting clients on a hospitality day, or directors travelling from the Midlands, the north or the south coast who would otherwise spend two or three hours on the road each way. From Birmingham, London is about 40 to 50 minutes by helicopter against at least 2 hours 26 minutes by car; from Southampton about 30 to 35 against 1 hour 39; from Norwich about 45 to 55 against 2 hours 53; from Manchester about 60 to 75 against 4 hours 9. These come from our route data and the road figures are free-flowing floors.
The Championships are in late June and July, so the roads are busy and the days are long. We plan the return around the last match, the car queue and the heliport's closing time. Our events hub sets out the rest of the summer, and business helicopter charter explains the process for corporate groups.

Planning the day around the club
Tickets and hospitality for Wimbledon are arranged by the club and its official hospitality providers, not by us. We arrange the travel. Give us the guests' names and weights, the arrival time you want at the club and the latest departure from Battersea. We then agree the heliport slot, the car and the timings with you.
Plan for a long day. The play, the queues and the Thames-side traffic back to Battersea can all stretch, and the heliport closes at 23:00 with departures needing to be airborne by 22:45. We build in a margin and keep the last slot flexible. The nearby Surrey airfields also serve London; see Surrey and London helicopter transfers.
What to bring and what to ask
Arrive 10 minutes before departure, keep bags soft and tell us each passenger's weight. Ask us how many cars are needed for your party, where the car will meet you at the club and what happens if play runs late. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing. For cars at both ends, Executive Global Travel can help. Similar summer days are covered by Royal Ascot, Henley Royal Regatta and golf days.
