Booker and Denham compared
Helicopter charter Buckinghamshire runs from two small airfields 11 nautical miles apart. Wycombe Air Park, known as Booker, is a busy mixed field of aeroplanes, helicopters and gliders. Permission is strictly required at all times, requested in writing by email, and arrival slots are allocated. Its asphalt runway is 730 metres long and it closes at 17:30 or sunset if earlier, with extensions for a fee. Denham is a short asphalt runway aerodrome with a station on the Chiltern line a mile away, and it is a regulated airport for international arrivals though not a designated customs airport.
Charter-A Helicopter is the helicopter charter service of Charter-A Ltd, which has arranged private flights across the UK and Europe since 2011. Neither takes jets; both take helicopters, and we pick one by where your guests are going. For a jet connection use Northolt or Heathrow, both close by.

Helicopter figures are typical block times: distance at 135 knots plus 8 minutes, shown as a range. Road figures are free-flowing road times, a floor that real journeys rarely beat. Distances are in a straight line. Figures from our UK route data, checked 29 Sep 2026.
How much time does the helicopter save?
Not hours, but a lot of stress. From Booker, Ascot is about 10 to 15 minutes against 34 by road, Heathrow 15 against 33, Oxford 15 to 20 against 49, London 15 to 20 against 58, Epsom 20 to 25 against 59 and Silverstone 20 to 25 against 1 hour 7. From Denham the Heathrow hop is 10 to 15 minutes against 19, and Ascot 10 to 15 against 32.
The M40 and M25 are the problem roads, and a collision on either wipes out a road estimate. The helicopter does not queue, though it does follow air traffic corridors, and Heathrow's airspace sits just to the south. For Oxford, see Oxford, and for a trip to the Northamptonshire border see Silverstone.
Houses, studios and business in the county
Buckinghamshire has some of the best-known country houses in England, including Cliveden near Taplow, Waddesdon Manor and Hughenden, and several hotels that host corporate events. Our Cliveden page explains how landing is arranged for that house. The county also has Pinewood Studios at Iver Heath, which draws film and television business, and Marlow and High Wycombe have a strong professional base.
Landing at a house, a hotel or a studio site is subject to landing permission and site suitability, and we agree it with the owner first. See business helicopter charter for the planning pattern. Executive Global Travel can arrange the car from either field.
Planning notes
Give us the date, the destination and each passenger's weight; arrive 10 minutes before departure and use soft bags. Because Booker allocates slots, we send the request early and confirm the time with your booking. A glider and training circuit shares the airspace, and wet weather affects the grass. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing.
Nearby pages include Berkshire, Denham and Milton Keynes, and the London and Home Counties page covers the region.
