The short answer
Twickenham Stadium has no helicopter landing site, so we land you at a licensed site in west London, usually Denham, RAF Northolt, Elstree or the London Heliport at Battersea, and a chauffeur car completes the journey. Because Heathrow's airspace is close, routings are agreed with air traffic control and timings are planned with extra margin.

Can a helicopter land at Twickenham?
No. The stadium has no helicopter landing site we can offer, and Twickenham sits in a part of southwest London that is close to Heathrow's controlled airspace and under its approach paths. That does not stop helicopter charter Twickenham flights, but it does mean every flight is cleared and routed with air traffic control, and nobody can promise a straight line to the gates.
Charter-A Helicopter is the helicopter charter service of Charter-A Ltd, which has arranged private flights across the UK and Europe since 2011. For Twickenham we choose the landing site by where your party starts and what time the match finishes, and we say so plainly when a site does not fit. Our overview of UK landing sites explains what makes a site usable.
Which sites work for Twickenham?
Denham Aerodrome in Buckinghamshire, 7.3 nautical miles from Heathrow, is open 08:00 to 20:00 in summer and 08:00 to 18:00 in winter, prior permission required. See helicopter charter Denham. RAF Northolt, 5.2 nautical miles from Heathrow, takes civil flights by prior permission, with published hours of 08:00 to 20:00 on weekdays and 10:00 to 17:00 at weekends; see Northolt.
The London Heliport at Battersea is 10.5 nautical miles from Heathrow, with permitted hours of 07:00 to 23:00 and core hours that are shorter at weekends. It suits parties who begin the day in central London, and Battersea Helicopter explains the site on its London Heliport page. Elstree is further north; see Elstree. Heathrow itself is possible only with slots and written permission, which is why we rarely use it; the Heathrow page has the detail.

What does a Twickenham rugby day look like?
Twickenham hosts England internationals and other major rugby matches; please check the organiser for dates, because we do not guess them. Corporate clients book it for the same reasons they book any ground: a hospitality lunch, a seat in the stand and a day that runs to time. Match-day roads and trains around the ground are heavy, so the value of the helicopter is at the front and back of the day, not in the last mile.
A party from Oxford, for example, covers the distance to London in about 25 to 35 minutes by helicopter against around 1 hour 31 minutes by road. Land at a west London site, take the car, and you are at the ground well before kick-off. After the game, the car leg can be the slowest part, so we plan a buffer and often a meal before departure to let the traffic clear. Arrive 10 minutes before take-off, bring soft bags and give us a weight for every passenger.
How do you plan the return, and what is the next step?
Return flights are the hard part. Sites have published hours, Northolt closes earlier at weekends, and an evening match can finish after sunset, which matters for grass and small airfields. We confirm hours at booking and, if needed, hold the helicopter at an airfield that stays open or arrange an overnight stay. For other London grounds see Wembley and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
For the car at either end we work with Executive Global Travel. The football by helicopter hub and the corporate days out page list the other events we cover. For price guidance see the helicopter hire price guides, and we quote through the form.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a helipad at Twickenham Stadium?
No landing site at the stadium is available to us. We use a licensed site such as Denham, Northolt or Battersea and arrange a car.
Does Heathrow stop helicopters flying near Twickenham?
Not outright, but flights are routed with air traffic control, so we plan extra time and cannot promise direct tracks.
Which site is best for Twickenham?
It depends on where you start and the kick-off time. Denham and Northolt are closest to the west; Battersea suits central London.
Can we leave after an evening match?
Sometimes. Weekend hours at Northolt and Denham end early, so we may hold the helicopter elsewhere or suggest an overnight stay.
What happens if weather cancels the flight?
If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing.
